Three hundred years ago this very day (if today’s the 15th August) a boy was born in Yorkshire who would grow up to be an adventurer, a musician, a philanderer, a soldier, and the father of the modern road system in the North. A remarkable, unstoppable old rogue who achieved all of this despite being blind from childhood.
Local author and musician Eddie Lawler has written a play to celebrate the remarkable life of “Blind” Jack Metcalf, and Shipley Little Theatre are proud to produce and present it.
